Maintaining Movement and Supporting Good Posture

Maintaining Movement and Supporting Good Posture

The physios at NeuroPhysio Scotland have been working with my dad for 9 months now.  My dad has quite progressive Primary Progressive MS so his physical requirements and ways of communication are difficult.  From the moment we met the team, we felt comfortable and at ease with them.  Tracey, one of the physios, has found a unique way to work with my dad and he even laughs at some of our awful stories!  It is so great to see him happy.

Many positive differences have been noted in these past 9 months!  The care staff at his home have seen that the tone in his legs has reduced and he is able to relax in bed more with his chest clearance improving greatly too.  Tracey is great at liaising with other health care workers including orthotics, occupational therapists and GP’s.  She’s also helped us get a better-supported wheelchair, different seating for during the day and aids to support his posture when in bed.  This helps our family greatly by taking some of the pressure off of our daily lives.

My dad and I look forward to every weekly session with Tracey (and only hope that we have many more sessions to come!)

Hannah, Newton Mearns.
